This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are energetic second graders who come to school so excited to learn. They've been using wobble chairs, cushions, and yoga balls for flexible seating and absolutely love it. However, a group came to me to ask about if I could make learning on the carpet easier. I asked them what they had in mind and they were able to explain that their teacher from the year before had these amazing seats that could be used anywhere!
These work space bundles and a table will help our class be able to work and focus more on the carpet.
We spend a lot of time working in groups and on the carpet. With these new seats, we'll be able to do more group work in the classroom and outside in our garden. I am so excited that my students came and asked me for this amazing idea, and I really can't wait to see it get funded for them!
