Help me give my students choices other than chair and desk. I aim to provide my students with a more comfortable environment to promote engagement, collaboration, movement and a love for reading.

My Project

I just got the librarian position in my school. I'm looking forward to instilling a love for learning to the students that come through the library.

I would like to introduce flexible seating in the library to promote a love for learning.

Flexible seating refers to a classroom or library setup where desk and chairs are replaced with other seating options, such as bean bags, floor cushions, and seats that give students the ability to move while sitting. The goal is to provide students a more comfortable and adaptable learning environment.

I plan to use the floor cushions during read aloud's to keep the students engaged and comfortable while we read and learn new about new subjects. The bean bag and other floor seating will be used throughout the library to give students a place to sit after they have checked out a book that they are interested in.

My dream is to show students a love for learning and get them excited to come to the library and learn new things through reading.
