I am a third grade teacher with a variety of students. I am always looking for ways to reach all of my students' learning needs. My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds and represent various ethnicities, learning styles, and ability levels. My students are hard workers, very busy, enjoy working together and love using technology. Every day we are learning new ideas and applying our learning during hands-on activities. We love to work around the room during partner work and stations. My students are problem solvers and are eager to try new things. They enjoy having a choice in their learning and are developing their independence every day.
My Project
My students love working in spaces that feel comfortable and cozy to them. In my classroom, I have implemented the "Daily 5." This is a structure to make classrooms a more effective reading and writing environment. One of the components is called "Read to Self." This allows students to move about the room and sit comfortably as they read a book of their choosing to themselves.
We do so much work where students can spread out around the room and find a place that is comfortable for them.
These portable lap desks will be amazing in the classroom. They will ensure the students have a surface for their Chromebook or notebook and let them work comfortably in the classroom. The cushions are comfy for students to be comfortable while sitting on the floor. Students will use the copy paper and pencils to create books when working on writing. Students LOVE having alternative places to sit, that feels comfortable!
