My students are wonderful! They are eager, outgoing, excited, responsible and caring little people. They love school and I love having them here!
I serve children and families who generally live at or below the poverty line.
Parents and educators alike want what's best for our students. But the reality is, families don't have the extra money and we know the current state of the Oklahoma education system doesn't have it either. My students depend on donations from the community to be sure we have an ample amount of supplies!
My Project
We all know how difficult it is to ask small children to stay in their seats and sit still! Do you know why it's so difficult for them? Because developmentally, they are not mature enough to keep their bodies still for extended periods of time. The cushioned seating and the wobble that comes from the stools, allows the appropriate movement students crave while still allowing them to stay in their defined space and on task.
Flexible seating will give my students options and variety rather just sitting in chairs all day.
Cubes and seats will be placed at the tables for small learning instruction, at computers and the art center.
