My Students

I teach resource math and study skills to high school students. As they have struggles in math it is generally not their favorite subject. They also have many different needs in their physical spaces with some students having need to move around often, some needing a place to bounce or move in their seat, and others needing a comfortable place to nestle in and calmly learn.

I am looking for a grant for flexible seating so that my students can be more physically comfortable and focused while working to improve their math skills.

My Project

Variety is the spice of life and I work with a large variety of student as a high school math and study skills teacher. Helping them focus on improving their skills is a high priority.

Flexible seating will allow my students to work and learn in a way that is most comfortable to them while allowing them to focus.

This will especially help students with a lot of energy or that need to fidget in order to pay attention.

By allowing them to work at different physical levels, such as seated low in a bean bag chair or high at a standing desk as well as a the typical level of a classroom table, it give them choice to increase their comfort and improve their performance.
