Flexible Seating for Ms. Chamberlain’s 6th Grade Class!
Help me give my students flexible seating options to turn my classroom into a cozy and welcoming place! My goal is for students to feel excited about coming to school and I hope these items will encourage that!
Flexible seating allows for students to make choices that work best for their learning. During independent work time or partner work students can choose to work around the classroom in a spot that works for them. This past year students were able to sit at different tables around the room or use clipboards to sit or lay down on the floor while working.
I have noticed that when students are able to choose their spot they are more engaged and often less disruptive than when they are sitting at their desk.
The products that I have selected will give students a variety of options for seating in the classroom. The bean bags will allow for a comfortable floor seating option and can easily be moved around the room. The standing desks will give students who need extra movement during class the opportunity to do that without disrupting others around them. Perch stools and fluffy chairs can be used at student desks for independent work, brought to the teacher table for group work, or used with partners anywhere in the classroom.
Giving students the opportunity to have choice in their learning makes a positive impact on their confidence and independence. I’m so excited for this upcoming school year and hope these products will help these amazing students grow even more!
