School is home for our children. They come from many different backgrounds, families, and they face many challenges in their home lives. They want to be loved and most importantly they have the desire to learn despite the many obstacles they may face from day to day. Many students in my classroom have varying exceptionalities. In an inclusion environment all students are exposed to each other and help each other in their learning. It is a beautiful thing to witness their growth in this new process of inclusion. Their future is bright if they continue their love of school, learning, and working with each other.
My Project
My students could greatly benefit from flexible seating. Many have accommodations and need flexible seating in the classroom. Sadly, I do not have much flexibility in my room for seating other than regular chairs. These balance balls encourage focus for students who need extra stimulus while working, improve posture, and is great exercise/movement while being at their desk! I have seen these items many times myself and wanted to purchase off of amazon but it is difficult to buy many items with the budget that we have especially classroom sets for flexible seating. However, I believe this is the perfect thing for my classroom and just what it needs to improve my students’ learning.
