Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These 6th graders show how passion leads to growth. Our students are from a vast variety of cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and learning ability. Many students I teach have experienced things that no child should, including homelessness. Despite the challenges that they face, these students remain motivated to do their best and continue pushing for excellence.

My students deserve to learn in an environment that is inviting and comfortable.

Flexible seating is all the rage, and quite frankly -- it's amazing! I only have a couple limited options currently and would love to expand the options for my wonderful kiddos. They try so incredibly hard and have been the game-changers in truly making our class feel like a family. Their drive, passion, and appreciation is inspirational.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of how they learn best. With varied options of types of seating, the students can comfortable have various options to enhance their learning. Currently, my students have a few pillows and a saucer seat but there are only a few options for a few students at a time. Each student deserves to have a comfortable choice to learn with their maximum potential.

Engagement begins with choice and being able to find a place that best fits each student's needs.

The products I am requesting have multiple purposes and creates very different experiences including simple padding to a hard plastic chair or floor, movement pads for those who need to get a few wiggles out, barstool seating for those who prefer to sit higher, to a yoga ball to engage those who need more movement.

I have witnessed first hand how choices engage my class and change their demeanor, and I hope that more options will help us grow even more!
