My fifth graders represent the beauty that comes with living in Oakland, California. Fifth grade is such an amazing year because it means the end of elementary school and provides a glimpse into their futures. I am excited to see where this year will take us and to watch the growth that each child will accomplish. I want to make sure that each child is equipped and ready to be as successful as they can be throughout their fifth grade year and beyond.
Teaching in Oakland means teaching students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
One blessing that makes such a difference in a student's life is the sense of community and importance that they have at school. I hope to help students thrive and build on these feelings throughout the year.
Some of the challenges that my students face is that lack of access to resources and opportunities as a result of educational funding.
My Project
These requested Adjustable Stools and Stack Stools will be used to provide students with more seating options. We are currently using all wooden chairs and these are not the most practical or comfortable for all learners. In order to update my classroom and meet the needs of all students, I am looking for more seating options.
Flexible seating allows for productive movement in the classroom, creating a more focused learning environment.
The Adjustable Stools and Stack Stools are lightweight and easy to move. They will make it easier to work with small groups, as well as providing support for individual students while they work. We are in such need for updated seating in our classroom, that these will make all the difference.
