My kindergarten students are a very fun group. I have a class of 25 students who are eager to learn and explore the world. They love playing and learning to read. They are very energetic and open to new learning ventures. My students are always given the opportunity to be in charge of their own learning. We are growing leaders. My students are from all different socioeconomic levels and backgrounds. They love coming to class to see what exciting things they will be learning.
My Project
Do you like sitting in one place all day long? Is your chair hard and uncomfortable? This is a reality for many students in the average classroom. Over the next year, I want to transform my classroom into a comfortable space for students to learn and grow by adding stability balls for seating.
I want to provide an environment where kids can be comfortable and confident.
I want to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. One way to do this is by incorporating flexible seating with a small group set of stability balls. Students who are engaged, confident, and comfortable will be successful in school.
With flexible seating, students will be able to choose what works best for them. Student choice requires the students to take ownership of their learning. I have already seen some amazing changes in students who have found the "perfect" seat for them. Their learning has skyrocketed and their engagement has doubled. If this was the case for all students, could you imagine all of the possibilities?
