My first grade classroom is located in a rural community in Pennsylvania. My students are a wonderful group of young people who come to school excited and eager to learn every single day. My school is a small Title I school with a very high percentage of students receiving free/reduced lunch. Therefore, many of my students come from disadvantaged homes. I do my very best to provide my students with rich educational opportunities that will help them to be the best versions of themselves each and everyday.
Given our circumstances, we still do the best we can to implement new technology, new teaching strategies and a variety of tools to help each student succeed.
My Project
Flexible seating in the classroom allows students the opportunity to choose how they will work best. Students will be able to choose a seat that they want, which will help them to be comfortable and concentrate while working. All students are different and work differently, therefore providing different resources for them to work to their best potential is why I think flexible seating is necessary in our classroom!
Each student deserves to have choices in their education, including how they learn and who they learn best near.
Using flexible seating will allow my students to work comfortably so that they are able to reach their highest potential and be the best they can be.
