My Students
My first grade students are energetic, hard working and eager to learn. I have 21 students in my classroom that all come from diverse backgrounds.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
I currently have hard plastic chairs as my only option for seating for my first grade students. I would LOVE to offer them more seating options such as wobble seats and balance balls.
Having flexible seating options will help students be more engaged, focused and excited about learning!
They will love being able to bounce, sway or lean as they are reading, writing or solving math problems at their desks.
I truly believe that having more options for seating will help students be more productive and will optimize their learning. I told them about this project and they were beyond excited!
