My students are amazing! They are eager to learn, and I strive to teach them in any way possible. Each and every one of them has their own shining personality. Our community is high in poverty. Some of these students love to be at school just for the socialization. I want to create a close classroom family! My wish is to be able to provide more opportunities and meaningful experiences for learning in the classroom. Please help me provide this opportunity today!
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students the opportunity to make choices. It will create a sense of responsibility for them. Students are better equipped to learn if all of their needs are being met. This will allow my students to move while learning, experience change (by choosing different seating) throughout the school year, and gain a knowledge of what helps them be successful students. When a student is not comfortable, they are also not attentive or productive. Flexible seating provides differentiation that many students need. Some students may need to stand while others work well on a wobble stool where they are able to move a little as they work. Flexible seating appears to create more opportunity for students to self-monitor their behavior as well.
