Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This project will impact the 24 First Grade students in Mrs. S's class. My students have a passion to learn and I love to see them come to school with smiles on their faces. It is my goal that they leave with that same smile each day. Some of my students are also English Language Learners and students who receive special services.

My students love to learn, to move, and have fun!

As students continue their journey in school, they are learning how to be a friend, how to share, how to cooperate with others, and how to navigate their classroom. I need your help to ensure that my students are comfortable in their classroom!

My Project

First Grader's love to move, and it can be hard for them to build up the stamina to sit throughout the day. When given comfortable and flexible options for seating, students can feel more focused and prepared for their day.

My students will use these seating options for center times, seat work, and to help them relax.

Class sizes are large and these items will give my students options to sit in a variety of places, rather than just their table and chair. Stools and cushions will assist in making cozy seating areas for centers. Different seating options will give the students the ability to 'move' while they are learning. All of these items will be used in my classroom to ensure the best possible learning environment for my students.
