This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach first grade at a two-way immersion school where both native Spanish speakers and native English speakers come together to learn a new language from one another. My sweet, bilingual students are hard-working, kind, and a joy to teach. I am so proud to be their teacher!
I want to give my students their favorite flexible seating option- balance balls!
Due to the COVID pandemic, this is the first normal year of school my first graders have had. Their preschool year was taught mostly through virtual learning, and throughout kindergarten, they were required to be masked and socially distant from one another. For this reason, some of them are still learning social-emotional skills such as remaining focused and calm during our complete school days. Flexible seating options allow students the opportunity to move in their seats without disrupting their learning or the learning of others. I am requesting balance balls and crates to store/support the balance balls.
