My Students

Each year I have the opportunity to work with 20-25 little learners in my classroom. They come from a rural community that values hard work and education. Therefore, we use those principles as the building blocks for our classroom climate.

Kindergarteners' excitement for learning is contagious!

I love my job because of the kids I work with on a daily basis. My students look forward to coming to class, learning new things, and building relationships within the classroom. I am proud and privileged to be their teacher.

My Project

Wobble chairs, carpet squares, and circular pillows will give my kindergarten students a variety of seating options that best fits their needs while improving their learning environment. Unlike traditional chairs, alternative seating will allow students to select a work space that is best for them. These resources will also give students the flexibility to select what area of the classroom they wish to work in.

Choice creates independence in students while giving them ownership of their learning.

It is important for kids of all ages to have an active role in their education. Flexible seating is one simple way I can encourage student involvement in my classroom.
