My Students

I’ve spent the past twelve years teaching a different batch of 6th graders the ins and outs of their history. We’ve studied the people who have changed history and the impacts of these changes.

My students are incredible and they put every fiber of their being into whatever excites them, motivates them, empowers them.

They love reading primary sources, pouring over pictures and images of the past, and building connections between our units of study. They are so inquisitive and eager to dig into historical topics and their enthusiasm is infectious. I teach a variety of learners who all have incredible strengths and are motivated to learn. Although some students may be at different levels, they all work together in my classroom. They thrive with inquiry-based learning and love to discuss and debate.

My school is a vibrant learning community with a staff of dedicated teachers who work hard to provide learning opportunities for all. I'm privileged to work with the team of teachers that I do.

My Project

By providing my classroom with a set of comfortable bean bag chairs, you'll be helping my students stay focused and engaged while working comfortably. I have worked hard over the past few years to provide flexible seating options for my students including standing work stations, yoga ball chairs, and a bicycle desk. These additions to my classroom are helpful and much needed but are very individualized. The set of bean bag chairs will allow my students to work together in comfort.

By donating to this project, the lives of my students will be dramatically changed for the better.

So often, students of all ages and told to sit down and be quiet. This is not a way to engage learning, this is a way to shut down learning. By donating to this project, my students will be given a way to collaborate anywhere in the classroom with ease and comfort.
