Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Often it's said, to have a productive classroom, students need to be cared for and happy. My classroom has become known as a place to relax and be productive during math class and/or lunch time!

This project will include an organizer bench and a coach that will allow students to sit and spread out while they complete work.

The project will allow for different areas of the classroom to be used for better focus and collaboration.

My students are constantly asking to work at more comfortable settings and I know this project will help my classroom be even more welcoming and engaging.

My students are resilient and many of them will become the first in their families to attend & complete college.

My students come from Latinx and African American households in the community and work with my colleagues, who are some of the most committed teachers I've seen.

Many of my students are behind their peers in the suburbs in terms of academic aptitude due to the pandemic that greatly affected our community. There are many resources that my school has, but there sometimes aren't a lot of extra supplies. My students need to rely on a safe and comfortable classroom to be productive and happy in math.
