This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarteners come to school every morning eager to learn and are excited about what their day might bring. Many of my students enter school speaking English as their second language or knowing no English at all.
My students want to be successful in school and enjoy their learning.
For many, this is their first time in school and love activities that keep them active and moving. They are expected to improve academically, socially, and emotionally throughout their year in kindergarten.
Many of my students come from low income homes and receive free breakfast and lunch. My students love coming to school and I want to create an environment where they feel safe and happy.
My Project
By providing my students with flexible seating options, they will be able to focus better on the task at hand while building stronger bodies. The students will be able to choose which type of seating works best for their learning.
The balance balls, wobble chairs, and balance disks will help the students build stronger bodies while working and will help keep their minds engaged.
The resistance bands will allow the students to sit in a standard chair, but will allow movement of their legs and feet while sitting.
These flexible seating options will increase student engagement and motivation in the classroom. My students will enjoy our new learning environment while maximizing their learning potential!
