Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are mostly low-income, high-risk diverse learners. They want to succeed but have not been provided an equitable opportunity for education. We are looking to build up the technology in our classroom to provide more avenues of supplementation of the curriculum to achieve higher success and mastery of the skills.
We utilize small group teaching, flexible seating, and technology for supplemental activities, but we lack resources in our school and unfortunately my Diverse Learners are the ones who are left behind.
My students are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. For Diverse Learners, technology and flexible seating are very important aspects of the classroom. I want to be able to provide my students the ideal room to excel.
My Project
Flexible seating provides students different options when learning in the classroom. The chairs and desks in rows are outdated. Students today prefer to sit on the floor, on a sofa, and on wobble chairs which put them in the most comfortable position to learn.

I am a new teacher to the building, and I do not have any flexible seating in my environment except for an old rocker that I brought from home. Nothing was given to me by the school.
