Help me give my students access to more flexible seating! We have two stools that are always breaking in our beloved art center. I will replace them with these stools and add a wobble cushion for the rug!

My Students

I began teaching at a progressive public school in San Francisco this fall. The students at our school are passionate, caring, creative and diverse. Our students are representative of the diversity our city by the bay has to offer, with a large range of socio-economic backgrounds.

They are curious explorers, engaged mathematicians and critical problem solvers.

Their newfound reading and writing abilities enable them to engage with the world in new and exciting ways. The tools they have around them will enable them to interact with each other and the world.

My Project

The chairs in our classroom are old, and they do wobble - but not on purpose! As I think about students' learning I want to increase the amount of flexible seating available to them

These stools and wobble cushions will provide additional ways to move while learning!

I hope to replace two broken stools and give a student on the rug the opportunity to move around while they listen. These tools will be available to all students during work times, rug times and play times. I will model how to use them and encourage students to grab one when they feel it will be helpful.
