I am an educator in a Title I elementary school with a high percentage of students from low-income families. I teach first grade inclusion. My students have different needs and accommodations. My students need to move around more frequently.
They could benefit from flexible seating to assist in their independent reading, writing, peer/buddy reading, small group, self-regulation breaks, and other classroom activities. Flexible seating such as the wobble chair and the active chair makes students feel empowered by allowing them to choose their seating as needed.
Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, lean or stand which increases oxygen flow to the brain and helps to stimulate their sense of touch.
It will help them to stay focus. Most of all my students will have fun learning!
My students also need 26 headphones for their laptops. The headphones will be used daily as one form of academic intervention/enrichment.
