My Project

My classroom is made up of creative, collaborative and eager scholars who come to school every day ready to learn. They are also a diverse group who have varied learning styles. We start each day with a powerful message: "All children are capable of success! No exceptions!"

I want to create a classroom where every student is able to focus and reach their full potential in a kinesthetic friendly learning environment.

I see untapped potential in my students who have not responded to traditional classroom settings. That is why I sought out an alternative... flexible seating.

Our new seating options will provide my students with flexible seating options in our classroom. This will enable students to select a seating option that will allow them to be successful whether they are working independently or in a small group. By permitting my students to sit on these seats instead of hard chairs, they will be able to move and wiggle as needed. The movement will help increase blood flow to their brains and increase their focus and attention in class.

My project will help improve concentration, build stamina and engagement; as well as allow students to have their physical needs met so they will be able to succeed on their academic tasks. Students will be able to select the best fit for their learning throughout the day, and every student will have the opportunity to utilize these seats. The world is changing, and so should our classrooms. Revitalizing my classroom is a way to allow my students to exercise voice and choice in their learning environment and find success on their own terms.
