Flexible Seating for a Healthy Classroom Environment

Help me give my students rolling side tables and and rolling stools to ensure social distancing in the classroom by making it easy to move furniture around accordingly.

My Students

As this year comes to an end, we are left with the unknown of what September will be like. My students are learning from home now on Google Classroom. Every day I post their assignments and try to bring the fun we had in the classroom into their remote learning. However, it, of course, is just not the same as seeing their smiling faces and hearing their voices every day. Starting in September with a new class will be difficult after being out of school since March.

My co-teacher and I want to make we have the resources in our classroom to make sure we are able to find any guidelines to stay safe in September.

My Project

Research has shown that students learn best when they are comfortable. My goal is to transform our classroom using the flexible seating initiative, so that all students will have seating options that suit their needs. In addition, to the research that supports flexible seating, the new school year will be very different. It will be the "new norm". We are still unsure what this will look like. But, I want to be prepared to have seating options ready for my students to be able to social distance and stay safe. The side tables and stools will allow students to have a healthy alternative to traditional seats.
