My students are a group fun and spirited individuals, who make the best of any situation. Since there are a variety of learning styles used in our classroom, each day is unique.
Even though our students live in an under privileged area, we make the best of each and every day with the resources we are provided.
We focus on being positive and starting each day with a smile. We try to make school a priority for these students and stress the importance of attendance. By making school more fun and engaging, we can make students want to come to school each day.
My Project
Sometimes choice makes all of the difference between success and failure. I have learned that when I give students the option to control their learning environment, they tend to feel empowered. This makes them try harder and show more effort in their studies. I want to give them every opportunity to make choices that work best for them, including their seating.
I am asking for a variety of chairs that the students will be able to chose from when working.
This includes an inflatable chair, bean bag chairs, and Exercise Ball chairs. We'll also use the area rug for the classroom.
I am also asking for Chair Bands, which enable the students to put their feet up under their desk and fidget their legs. These help with concentration for those that need movement!
