This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every child In my classroom is a unique learner. I have some of the most caring and motivated individuals. These students deserve the opportunity to have materials that will allow them to reach their full potential.
Last year, I began to use flexible seating options within my room and it was a big hit!
Allowing students to choose their own spot in their classroom gives them a sense of independence and accountability. I saw my students thrive when they were able to move about in the classroom and choose a spot that "belonged" to them.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
The large carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during mini-lessons and share time.
The flexible seating choices will allow each student to work where they feel comfortable within the classroom. The clipboards will be offered to students, so they may work in their seating spaces independently. Students will be allowed to make their choice about where to sit within the classroom using the items that will be donated.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
