Students enter my classroom with diverse learning backgrounds. Some have learned from home, virtual spaces, and are coming back from private school. Several academic and behavioral needs emerge because of these diverse learning styles coming back together in one space.
One way to help these students learn and reach their fullest potential is by the use of flexible seating.
Flexible seating allows students to take ownership of their learning by making a choice of where they would like to sit to complete their work. It can also help redirect energy in a more productive way.
Beyond the immediate benefits of improved comfort and morale, these mobile desk chairs can also have a lasting impact on my students' overall health and posture. By having flexible seating options available, it will help my students have more options to move during their learning time and that will advance their academic learning and overall well-being. Our students are the future leaders, thinkers, and innovators, and by ensuring they have a conducive learning environment, we are indirectly contributing to a bright and more prosperous tomorrow. Our kids are sitting most of the day and they deserve to be able to move around on a rolling chair.
