Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our community is high crime, high poverty and the classroom is often the safest, calmest environment that our students have. Our students are provided with all of the basic necessities such as breakfast in the classroom, dental check ups, as well as a daily positive learning environment. While we try to supply everything they need to learn, but they never last the whole year.

We are a blended learning classroom which encourages students to choose flexible seating that is comfortable for students will they are working.

I am looking to add more flexible seating choices so that students will become even more engaged and comfortable learning knowing that they have a choice in where they sit to work.

My Project

Imagine being six years old and needing to read for 20-30 minutes in a classroom full of peers. Flexible seating has allowed my students to do just that with positive outcomes! Adding these flexible seats, such as Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats, to our rotation will give my students more choices when it is reading time.

Flexible seating allows my students to read and complete their work in comfort!

Who doesn't like to be comfortable when they are reading or doing math problems? The new flexible storage system will also allow us to keep our items handy, organized and within reach! My students are eager and creative thinkers who love taking an adventure in every book they read!
