My classroom will be filled with 21 highly energetic four and five year-old students! Our students come from very diverse backgrounds. Some of them will have attended preschool but for many students, kindergarten will be their first school experience. Some students will know how to read and write, while other's will need to learn to spell their first name.
I love teaching kindergarten because I have the opportunity to make sure that these kids love school.
Kindergarten students are so eager and willing to learn, it's up to me to make sure that their first year of school is a positive one. That's why I strive to create a calm, caring classroom where student can nurture their curiosity and develop a love for learning.
My Project
This year I have decided to implement flexible seating in my classroom. Flexible seating is perfect for the kindergarten classroom. Kids learn best when they are able to make choices, flexible seating provides those choices. Wobble chairs and wobble cushions allow students to get their wiggles out and helps them build core strength.
As a veteran teacher I have witnessed a decline in students' gross motor skills.
These seats will help students develop those skills! I am looking for six wobble chairs to use at our reading group table and six wobble cushions that students can use throughout the classroom.
Wobble chairs and wobble cushions will help students build the core strength they need to learn and to live healthy, active lives. I truly believe that these seats will make a huge difference in my classroom. Thank you for considering my project for your donation.
