Our students come from a variety of different backgrounds with 100% receiving free lunch. Our school is also very diverse as many of our students speak another language at home other than English. These challenges do not stop them as they come to school excited to learn each and every day.
My students learn best out of their seats.
They like to explore as they learn. Flexible seating helps with this as it allows them the freedom to explore the classroom and work alongside their peers in collaborative learning groups wherever their heart desires.
It is so important to consider the different learning styles of students. Students require so many different things to be successful in the classroom, and these things should be individualized based on what the student needs. One of those important things is the space in which they learn in.
Flexible Seating gives students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them.
I want to provide at least three different settings that students can choose from. They can become owners of their learning while working in their own space that works best for them.
Flexible seating allows for a student-centered classroom.
The large bouncy balls will be placed inside the crates to create a seat. This seat allows students the ability to move while still being focused on their mission at hand. The lap tables allow students to sit all over the room on the floor.
