Our students come from diverse backgrounds; each one bringing various strengths and skills to the classroom. Our school has a large number of students receiving free and reduced lunch as well as a large English language learner population.
Students need to be actively engaged in their academics.
Students look forward to coming to school each day, where they are greeted by a safe engaging community. The staff provides high expectations and opportunities for students to excel in their educations.
Providing the best resources for students is always a top priority.
My Project
In first grade we use a lot of center instruction for academic work. We are constantly moving around the room keeping students engaged. Moving around the room with student desks can be challenging. Adding this table with storage can help take up less room in the classroom while still providing seating for all the students. The removable storage compartments can allow kids to move their materials with them around the classroom.
Learning to work together and share is a big life lesson.
Flexible seating is a new big concept in the elementary level, providing students with opportunities to work together and share.
