Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a 6th year teacher at my school I have been able to support many students across my many years and have learned so much from them. This year, having a new classroom I have been limited with storage space and seating for my students. My students are kind, so bright and have an immense desire to learn, and I believe that giving the opportunity to some of these resources will provide them agency and creativity to their own learning. My goal for this project is to create some spaces in our classroom where students can have more flexible seating during learning and during our morning meeting SEL sessions. Some of the materials will also be used to create crafts, cards and games for us to play as a whole class community and build lasting relationships. I know that these skills are vital to the success of our students in the long run.
