This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My favorite thing about my school is the students! They bring such diversity into our K-12, Title 1 school. They come from various backgrounds and cultures. Students apply to our school and have to get accepted through a lottery system. These children and their families want to be there!
It's a beautiful thing to see how much the students learn and grow from working with one another.
I'd like to provide them more of a choice in the way they work in our classroom.
My Project
These donations will greatly impact the working environment in our classroom. Students will have the options to work at a desk/table with chairs using the chair bouncy bands, wiggle and wobble on the hokki stools, lounge on the floor using a yoga mat, or sit at table low to the ground.
Students will be more focused, comfortable, and engaged in their learning.
Sharing seating options will be another way to build a classroom community. They will have a more conducive workspace to work collaboratively and communicate with each other. Giving students choice, gives them power. I am excited to try to this new student-centered approach!
