This project is a mix of various materials that will help my students learn and support a comfortable learning environment. The items include flexible seating, books, materials to support reading development, and fun sensory sand!
The 5 new wobble stools will allow each one of my students to use a flexible seating option every day if they choose to do so!
This is very exciting because we will no longer have to rotate the chairs to make sure everyone gets a turn. The flexible seating that we currently have in the classroom has allowed my students to remain focused during work time while also meeting their sensory and movement needs.
This project also includes books and other reading materials. The Touch and Read cards will be used during small group reading instruction. I love that these cards are organized in spelling patterns so I can give students extra practice in the specific spelling pattern we are learning each week. The phonics books will be sent home weekly with my emerging readers so that they have books at their level to read at home. The "Little Spot" books will be used for read alouds in class and social emotional learning activities. Finally, the sensory sand is a Fun Friday choice that my students love, and getting a couple more kits will allow more students to use the sand each week!
