This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my classroom, I have 10 bright students who have been back on campus and are learning. They thrive on structure and different choices.
My students with special needs are in need of flexible seating that allows for not only comfort but a space to learn.
As a special education teacher, I have students that have different wants and needs. I have a few students who are able to sit in a traditional desk and I have others who prefer to sit/lay on the floor.
Since being back in the campus, I am able to see how the students prefer to learn. A few of my students like to move around, while others prefer to sit in a regular desk.
My Project
In the classroom, students normally sit in a traditional desk that has a chair and table attached. If my students were to receive this futon couch in the classroom, it will allow them the option to sit in a traditional desk or choose flexible seating to work on their classroom materials.
The students are seeking out different spaces in the classroom to not only complete their classwork but to also spend their break times in comfort.
My students enjoy congregating with each other in different spaces around the room and I would like to have them sit with each other comfortably.
