My Students
I am so excited to be teaching my first year in Harrisburg, PA. I am blessed with a very diverse group of students who accept and care for one another. Many of my students come from low-income households and have faced trauma in their short lifetimes. My students often face challenges and hardships, but they have the biggest hearts. They deserve the best!
My students inspire me every single day.
I want to be able to give my students everything. Being able to provide resources and materials that they do not have access to at home will motivate them and get them exciting about learning.
My Project
My classroom consists of 26 high energy 3rd graders! Sitting in a traditional desk and chair all day can be tough for many. I want to give my students a bit of choice and flexibility throughout the day through the use of stools. We would utilize these during small group guided reading time. Students can swivel and wobble on their stools while staying focused and improving their reading skills. It is my hope that these stools will not only help them focus, but motivate them to be ready to learn!
