This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 4th graders are in an ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) class located in the Bronx, NY. ICT is a setting in which general education and special education students learn together in the same environment. As a teacher in an inner-city school, my students are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of school. My goal as an educator is to provide my students with a safe, comforting and enjoyable environment when they enter my classroom. I love to help prepare my young fourth graders for success in their years to come.

My Project

My fourth grade math and science students love to learn in a comfortable classroom environment. With the proper school supplies and flexible seating arrangements, we can do so!

Some of my students with special needs benefit from these items to help them to focus on different tasks during the school day.

Studies have shown that flexible seating increases student attention. Bean bag chairs, balance balls, and wobble cushions will allow my students to have benefits of choice, movement and comfort in our classroom. I believe these flexible seating arrangements will be just what my students need to become even more successful!

This project will impact student engagement, motivation, confidence levels and attitudes towards learning. Any donations to this project would be greatly appreciated and would be making a difference in fifty lives!
