Flexible Seating and Stress-Relieving Corner

Help me give my students a classroom with flexible seating and tools and materials that students can use to destress while also focusing on learning using the supplies in this project.

My Students

My students are enrolled in Chinese dual immersion program in which they receive 50% of their instruction in Chinese every day and they are learning Chinese, Science, and Social Studies. The program's intensity necessitates a great deal of focus and effort on the part of the students. It is difficult to sit in a classroom for an extended period of time. Flexible seating allows students to choose from a variety of seating arrangements, making them feel more at ease in the classroom. With the motions and movements of the wobble chairs and yoga ball, you can improve brain oxygenation, blood flow, and core strength. This will help my students learn more effectively in the classroom.

Students also require stress-relieving tools to help them get through difficult times, such as tests, difficult days, and other stressful events.

In addition, the supplies provided as part of this project will benefit current and future students in their science experiment learning experiences.

My Project

Flexible seating is important because it allows students to release energy while sitting and learning all day. The yoga balls and wobble chair allow students to wiggle naturally in class without being too distracting, while also improving concentration during the lessons.

I have a few yoga balls in the classroom, and I've noticed that students are able to focus better while working with them, and the yoga balls can be moved easily to different workstations.

The other items I chose for this project will help in the creation of a de-stress corner for students who are having a difficult day or are struggling and require some time to regain their composure. Additional resources that would enhance our science experiments could benefit current and future students by enhancing their learning experiences.

During this difficult time, I've seen students struggle to manage their emotions and cope. These flexible seating and de-stressing tools can provide an emotional outlet for students, allowing them to calm down and prepare to learn again.
