Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class come from a variety of unique and challenging backgrounds. Almost 70% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Our room is full of laughter, love, and learning.

My students come to school each day with a desire for knowledge and it is my job, as the teacher, to provide them with a safe, warm learning environment and the tools they need to be successful.

I want to provide my second graders with a flexible learning environment and better allow them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking.

My Project

In my classroom, I like to give students the opportunity to work where they are most comfortable. Currently, we have no comfy options for the floor. I would love the "Comfy Floor Seats" from Lakeshore as an option for my students to use when working by themselves or with a partner on the floor. Additionally, I would love the STEM Challenges kit to use in our classroom for early finishers and on STEM days. We already have the building blocks, and these challenge cards would help guide my students with different challenges for them.

Please help me to further provide my students with a comfortable and engaging classroom environment.
