My Learning Support students tend to be more active than other students and need specific things to help them stay focused in class. I would like to provide them with different seating options and snacks to help them stay focused while working independently.
Having flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them.
They are able to choose a seat that works for them. We are currently working in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with cushions, or sitting or lying on the floor with cushions. Making sure my students are comfortable and fed will help them stay motivated while working.
My students tend to become more engaged in their work when they feel they have a choice of where to sit and when they have a snack.
