My Project
Through this project, I will grow professionally by exploring new strategies to support sensory needs and flexible learning environments in early childhood education. By incorporating hands-on materials and alternative seating, I’ll continue learning how to differentiate instruction and classroom management in ways that promote focus, collaboration, and independence.
The materials in this project will be used to create a more engaging and flexible learning environment for my students.
The magnetic tiles and interlocking building blocks will be used during STEM centers and free play to promote creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. Fidget tools will be available to help students who need sensory input stay focused during whole group lessons or independent work time. The bean bags and floor chairs will be used as part of our flexible seating options, giving students the choice to learn in a space that helps them feel most comfortable and focused. Linking cubes will be used during math centers and small group instruction to help students build number sense, practice counting, addition, and explore early measurement concepts in a hands-on way.
These tools will support both academic learning and emotional regulation throughout our day. This experience will allow me to reflect on what engages young learners most effectively and apply that knowledge to create a classroom where every student feels comfortable, supported, and eager to learn.
