My Students
My students are 19 wonderful and exceptional learners with a variety of strengths and areas of development. These first graders have managed to keep thriving and learning during their first year of school despite the stress that the pandemic has put on them. They're ready and eager learners who, if given the proper tools, will be able to keep that strong love of learning going as they transition from remote learning back into the classroom.
My Project
Flexible seating such as the wobble chairs and the wobble cushions are effective tools that allow for students to be able to get the movement they need without losing focus or distracting others during lessons. Often children lose focus during lessons or find it hard to learn if they are unable to move their bodies and lots of breaks take away from valuable learning time.
The slight movement helps children who may be overactive or need to expend extra energy and allows them to stay focused during lessons or small group work longer than in regular rigid seating.
