My Project
Teaching 4th and 5th grade comes with many challenges. These students begin experiencing the effects of puberty and struggle with their emotions. Students at that age, and really at most ages, cannot sit still for long periods. The calming strips and beanbag seats I have will allow students to sit and productively work while also being able to "fidget" and not sit like statues. Studies show that students are more productive with different seating options. The books will also be helpful for students learning about how to handle their big emotions.
This classroom project was brought to life by Alaska Department of Education & Early Development.
