When students can touch, explore, and try things out for themselves, they remember main ideas. Science tools—like beakers, magnifying glasses, droppers, and measuring cups—help students feel like real scientists. These tools let them make predictions, test ideas, and see how things work. Using their hands keeps them engaged, builds confidence, and makes learning fun and meaningful.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, we use these materials along with Mystery Science lessons to bring each activity to life. Instead of just watching or listening, students get to follow along and do the experiments themselves. They can look closely at objects, mix and measure materials, or build simple models to test their thinking. With the right tools, every child can participate and discover new things in a way that is exciting and easy to understand. Your support helps our young learners explore, experiment, and grow as curious scientists every day.","fullyFundedDate":1758734693368,"projectUrl":"project/super-science-lab/9723902/","projectTitle":"Super Science Lab!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Neuman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10250353"},{"teacherId":10250353,"projectId":9720459,"letterContent":"In our STEAM makerspace classroom, materials like glue, pom poms, and oil pastels became powerful tools that opened the door for creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. These supplies allowed students to design, build, experiment, and bring their ideas to life in ways that traditional paper-and-pencil tasks simply cannot. Whether they were engineering models, creating mixed-media art, or exploring color blending with pastels, students used these materials with purpose and excitement. They learned to plan, test, revise, and collaborate—skills at the heart of STEAM education.\r\n\r\nThe impact on students was tremendous. Access to these materials boosted confidence, engagement, and a sense of agency as learners. Students who are typically hesitant to take risks felt empowered to try new methods and express their thinking through making. The classroom was filled with curious learners and students proudly showcased projects that reflected their best work. Thanks to these resources, our makerspace became a vibrant environment where students could innovate, explore, and develop the critical thinking skills that set the tone for future creators!","fullyFundedDate":1758734693075,"projectUrl":"project/makerspace-essentials/9720459/","projectTitle":"Makerspace Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Neuman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10250353"},{"teacherId":10250353,"projectId":9701779,"letterContent":"In my classroom, fidget stones were introduced as purposeful tools designed to support focus, emotional regulation, and active engagement during learning. Students were taught that these stones were not toys, but calming objects meant to help steady busy hands and busy minds. By modeling proper use, setting clear expectations, and embedding fidget stones into our routines, students learned how to use them responsibly to stay grounded during lessons, transitions, and independent work time.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these tools was clear throughout the year. Students who previously struggled with restlessness or anxiety showed improved concentration and were better able to participate in class activities. Misuse was minimal because the stones were consistently framed as learning supports, not playthings. Over time, students even reminded one another of the expectations. Fidget stones in my class became a quiet, empowering resource that helped students take ownership of their attention and emotions in a positive and productive way.","fullyFundedDate":1757816087866,"projectUrl":"project/tools-not-toys/9701779/","projectTitle":"Tools Not Toys!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Neuman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10250353"},{"teacherId":4730359,"projectId":9270974,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to this project.
