Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I plan to use the tables to create more flexible seating in my classroom and also conduct more targeted small group activities. These tables will allow me to provide more seating options for my students.

Research shows that students who participate in small group activities and receive targeted instruction from their teachers perform better.

Flexible seating will also allow my students who may be uncomfortable at a desk a choice in where to sit. Being physically comfortable in a space is an important component of the learning space that is sometimes overlooked.
