Ms. Weaver from Houston TX is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need flexible seating at our small group, and some multiplication cards for our last 9 weeks of school to build on their multiplication cards. The geometric shapes are also needed for students to count vertices.

We are a public charter school in southwest Houston. My second grade students are awesome kids. We are a Title I school. I have ESL, SPED, and GATE students all in one classroom.
They want to learn more about engineering and how things work.
My students are from impoverished homes; they view pencils as luxury items. I have 25 wonderful kids who are very talented and have made awesome Gingerbread man traps made from recycled boxes (cereal, tissue box, or Amazon boxes) and explained how their traps would work to capture that pesky Gingerbread Man! We also have made a Leprechaun trap and had the literacy connection with the book. We've learned how to create a roller coaster using foam insulation, a marble, and a lot of tape.
When I came into the classroom at this school, I was shocked that they didn't have a classroom library. I have spent a lot of my own personal money so that they would have these items. I am planning to buy more things for them, I always do. My main goal in setting this DonorsChoose.org project up is that I believe that there are good people in the world who understand.
Students will get four flexible seating chairs for small group instruction, multiplication cards to build fluency on their multiplication facts, and geometry shapes so that the students can manipulate them to count their sides and vertices.
Students need flexible seating that is comfortable and that will help them to focus on the instruction.
Being able to have the resources that we need makes learning a new concept easier when we have the manipulatives.
We have 24 students currently. In the future, we would like more STEM-based items. The geometry shapes can be used in STEM, building or creating objects—such as a house or a shape of a lizard, for example.
