Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students crave positive reinforcement and I think having a safe place for them to relax, learn, and explore would further their desire to come to school! I want to provide an area where they can come if they are sad, angry, or just need time to chill out. I want the room to smell, feel, look, and be comfortable for the learning and socialization that they need!

Flexible seating will give students the chance to build rapport with each other and with staff.

My Project

All of the materials I requested will make the classroom a more inviting and hopefully more conducive for learning. Many of my students don't have a safe area for them to just hang out AND learn. I hope these few items will increase focus and productivity.

I hope this room can be a place to come for comfort, learning, and growth.

I want students and staff alike to be able to sit and build rapport that will enable students to continue building life skills while also learning. I can't wait to have a happy place for students to come and be themselves!
