My Project

Hi all! I have created this list of items to help allow my students to have better space in the classroom. We are in a smaller room, and even though there are only 12 of them, it can get cramped with the tables and chairs. There is so much room to use for comfortable seating and to have space for them to unwind. My goal is for next year to have all the desks/tables and chairs gone and have full comfort seating for my students. I know that they love getting to use and sit in different ways each day, so letting them have multiple options would be great! As a first year teacher, I can see the changes that I want to make next school year.

With just starting my career I wasn't sure what all I needed or even what students wanted.

But now that I have been teaching for almost a whole school year I can see what I want and need in the classroom. All the different seating options would go to the students to use at any place in the room. They can sit where they want and with whichever comfortable seating they choose to help them learn. I want to offer them more than the option of a simple chair. Letting them have different places to learn in the class. Giving different ways, different "textures" and different supports is what I want. To let them be fully comfortable! This is also to let them know and be aware of a safe space to relax, so no matter what they can have at least one safe space. I never want my students to be scared to ask or not have a place to call their cozy place.
