My Students

Students at our school are caring, creative, motivated, talented, and hardworking. They have unique strengths and needs. Our school fosters powerful learning and our students excel academically. Our school has strong parent involvement and an incredible PTA.

Our students are avid readers and enthusiastic learners.

The books in our school library are an invaluable resource in meeting their diverse needs as readers. Our learning centers provide engaging opportunities for students to create and collaborate in the library.

My Project

The past two years have been extra stressful for students due to the pandemic.

I would like to create a learning environment that will promote wellbeing and social-emotional learning by providing students with flexible seating options and collaborative learning resources.

The wobble stools in this project will help students who have a hard time sitting still to get their wiggles out and improve their focus while they work. The stools are particularly helpful for students with anxiety and ADHD. Many students are experiencing greater anxiety due to the pandemic. The chairs have a comfortable seat and they are designed to help strengthen core muscles while encouraging proper posture. They also have built-in handles underneath the seat, which makes them easy to pick up and move around for a more flexible seating option in the library.

The Keva Planks, Code and Go Robot Mouse sets, and the Hot Wheels race case set will provide students with fun and collaborative learning opportunities in our library centers. As students work together to complete learning challenges, they will also build relationships and develop problem-solving and social-emotional skills. The resources in this project will help spark joy in my students and inspire a greater love for learning during this challenging time!
