My Students

"In a world where you can be anything, be kind." Students see this motivational thought prominently displayed throughout our school. My class of 11 and 12-year old students are bright, thoughtful, and kind.

My students have a wide range of learning abilities, but they are all mastering the art of kindness.

Our school community has evolved into a more diverse population with ethnic and cultural differences. These sweet students embrace diversity with positivity and curiosity, showing kindness to all their peers. As 6th graders, they are the "big kids" of the school and are showing their younger peers what it means to be kind and inclusive of others.

My Project

The global pandemic required students to be in and out of school for the past two years. While learning at home, students were able to choose where they worked, and the classroom should be no different.

Flexible seating and great literature are key components of a modern-day classroom.

Giving students a choice of seating in the classroom helps keep them more engaged throughout the day. Flexible seating options allow students to be more comfortable while working on assignments. I hope that by introducing students to classical literature in 6th grade will instill in them a love of reading.
